Netflix and TF1 announce a surprise partnership. The streaming platform will soon be welcoming the television group's channels and special programs.
Since the advent of streaming platforms, fewer and fewer of us are watching television channels. Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube... The idea of being able to start and stop the program of our choice anywhere, anytime has appealed to many people. Streaming services have been more popular than TV for several years now. This is despite the arrival of advertisements, the absence of which was a strong argument at the time.
This doesn't mean that TV is dead. There are always exclusive programs on the latter, and if you're addicted to them, you don't really have any other options. As for a well-known group in France, this will soon be the case. Netflix and TF1 have announced a distribution partnership. In short: you will soon be able to launch TF1 channels live as well as TF1+ on-demand content directly on Netflix.
Surprise! Netflix will add TF1 group channels to its catalog
This is not the first time the two audiovisual giants have collaborated. But until now, they remained confined to production, for example, with the series Les Combattantes and L'Agence or the film Tout le bleu du ciel. It was time to go further.
“As viewing habits shift towards on-demand viewing and audience fragmentation increases, this unprecedented alliance will enable our high-quality, popular programs to reach unrivaled audiences and open up new advertising horizons, in an environment that fits perfectly with our TF1+ platform,” says TF1 Group CEO Rodolphe Belmer.
TF1 programs will be accessible from Netflix from summer 2026. Once this is the case, you will be able to see recommendations for these in addition to those for movies and series currently on Netflix. It is not yet known what the interface for accessing live channels will look like.
