On July 22, The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, and Game Freak will hold a Pokémon Presents event. This will be an opportunity for the franchise to revisit Pokémon Legends: Z-A, its next title, as well as its existing titles and other projects. The 10th generation of Pokémon is still a long way off, and it's no surprise to see fans of the franchise imagining what's next. While Mega Evolutions will make their grand return in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, an artist imagines the Mega Evolution of Ohmassacre, and it's a dream come true.
A Mega Evolution of Ohmassacre imagined by a fan
With the Teraleaks, Game Freak lost big. The Japanese studio's well-kept secrets were published for all to see, a disaster for Pokémon, a godsend for the more curious. Revelations that allowed the general public to better understand the reasons behind the negative points of the latest installments, the absence of new evolutions for Eevee, and the lack of innovation in the franchise. The source code for Pokémon Legends: Z-A has also leaked, providing players with a wealth of information.
Among them: the list of Mega Evolutions. While this list is subject to change, the game's development is far enough along to suggest that all listed Pokémon will be in the final version of the game. Six Pokémon from Unova are said to have Mega Evolutions, including a certain Ohmassacre. Evolving from Lamprey, Ohmassacre is the only Pokémon family with no weaknesses. Weak to the Ground Type, it dodges enemy Earthquakes thanks to its Levitate ability.
However, Ohmassacre doesn't shine in competitive play, due to its average stats. Despite everything, it remains viable, and it's possible that its Mega Evolution will make it shine again. It remains to be seen how beneficial its Mega Evolution will be. While Pokémon Legends: Z-A will answer our questions in due course, an artist by the name of El-psy-congroo-01 has imagined its Mega Evolution.

A sober, concise idea that has resonated with Pokémon fans. Players praise its effectiveness, whereas some Mega Evolutions tend to offer more abstract designs, such as Mega Scarhoun, Mega Metagross, or Mega Scizor. Despite everything, while this design is a hit, internet users are letting it know that adding a dual type would have allowed it to stand out more from its classic form.
However, adding a type means adding weaknesses. A dual Electric/Fairy type would still only add a single weakness to the Poison type, and access to a myriad of powerful offensive abilities. Same thing with a dual Electric/Poison type that would only open up one weakness against the Psychic type.
