Four years after the failure of Boba Fett

Underexploited enough in Disney's eyes, Boba Fett was commissioned to return to the Star Wars saga in 2021. Miraculously, the famous bounty hunter was able to escape the Sarlacc's jaws after his fall (which was thought to be fatal) in Return of the Jedi.

Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. The aura and mystery exuded by the character have been largely watered down, to the point of demystifying what made him charming in a series that was too sluggish. To top it all off, it was the Mandalorian who came to his sidekick's rescue to take over the reins of the plot. A half-admitted failure since Disney never ordered a sequel, without even mentioning cancellation. And this to the great displeasure of the first person concerned. Actor Temuera Morrison has expressed his disappointment several times. Recently, he reportedly attempted to be part of the cast of Ahsoka season 2.

A new standalone series for the bounty hunter

Things seem to be looking bad for the man who also played Jango Fett (Boba's father) in George Lucas' prequel series. But fans of the bounty hunter can nevertheless console themselves with the upcoming release of the comic book Star Wars: Boba Fett - Black, White and Red. Similar to the Darth Vader and Darth Maul comic book series, Marvel and Lucasfilm are producing a standalone story of four issues.

Benjamin Percy, who wrote the script, describes "a mercenary mission that goes wrong, as he's caught between the demands of the Empire and the Rebellion." Titled The Impossible Job, the first volume will send him to hunt down a dangerous individual on a volcanic planet. The problem is that both the Empire and the Rebels are demanding the same bounty. Boba Fett will then find himself in a real dilemma.

So, back to the Galactic Empire era for the mercenary, who has not yet known glory by capturing Han Solo and has almost been digested by the Sarlacc.
