Nvidia's RTX 50 graphics card family is about to welcome its latest member, the RTX 5050. It appears early on the web with a fairly detailed technical sheet.
There are many things that can be criticized about Nvidia, including its inability to produce enough graphics cards to meet gamers' demand, but there is one point on which the company does things right. Each time it releases a new series of RTX, we are sure that it will be available in as many variants as possible. All budgets are therefore covered as long as you are patient enough. Nvidia is indeed releasing its products from the most powerful to the most modest.
The RTX 50 family is no exception to the rule. Since the arrival of the RTX 5090 last January, we've had numerous versions up to the RTX 5060. That leaves only the RTX 5050, which we know exists, but that's about it. Thanks to an error by a German PC reseller, we're learning more about this entry-level model. They listed a PC equipped with the RTX 5050 before deleting the page in question. It was, of course, captured by at least one internet user.

Important clarification: this is the mobile version of the graphics card, for laptops. It therefore differs from the tower variant, even if the two have points in common. We learn that the RTX 5050 has the equivalent of 2,560 CUDA cores supported by 8 GB of GDDR6 RAM and a 128-bit memory bus. Its clock speed is 2,235 MHz (2,520 MHz in boost mode). That's 54% more than the RTX 4050 for laptops, and 44% more for boost mode.
Rumors suggested that the RTX 5050 would be equipped with GDDR7 memory like its bigger siblings, but that's apparently not the case, at least for the mobile version. The question of price is still up in the air. We shouldn't have long to wait before knowing. The graphics card is expected to be officially announced in the coming weeks.
