It's finally sometime in the spring of 2026 that "Siri 2.0" could arrive on iPhone and other Apple devices. The apple company has been careful not to announce a firm date. This is a rumor from Mark Gurman, which, however, fits quite well with the (vague) launch window announced by the manufacturer last March - he spoke of "the coming year".
Apple is walking on eggshells
According to Apple's usual schedule, the "personalized Siri" could therefore be offered in version ".4" of iOS, in this case iOS 26.4. Things can still change, warns the Bloomberg sleuth. This is especially true since Apple will not want to make a mistake: it is indeed imperative that the assistant be able to correctly offer the functions announced with great fanfare during WWDC 2024.
Siri must therefore be able to read the iPhone screen to better understand the context of use, and know how to draw on application data in order to provide the user with precise and detailed answers... and reliable ones, which is already not the prerogative of the current Siri.
At WWDC 2025, Craig Federighi, Apple's software guru, explained that the version of the assistant currently in development still lacks reliability in its responses. Which prevents the company from offering it to everyone.
But outside of Apple, no one has been able to try this new Siri, which earns it the unflattering description of vaporware. He will keep it until Apple offers a demo or preview, which could happen in the fall at the same time as the presentation of the iPhone 17 range. However, no decision has been made; everything will depend on the progress of the project.
