Goodbye France, its gastronomy... and its zombies. After two seasons in France, the series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is heading to Spain. This change of scenery was announced last year at the San Diego Comic-Con, when the series was officially renewed. With just a few weeks to go before this providential return, it's already time for AMC to share the first images. After all, the second season of The Walking Dead: Dead City has just finished airing in the United States. The teaser, lasting around thirty seconds, presents the new challenges awaiting our heroes.
After witnessing the apocalypse on French soil, our heroes cross the Spanish border and hope for a chance to cross the Atlantic to join their loved ones. They're getting closer every day to the moment when they'll be able to see their community again, starting with Rick and Michonne, who were reunited in the spin-off The Ones Who Live. "The road home is brutal, and the fight for survival is far from over," our heroes aren't here for sightseeing.
As a reminder, the previous season ended with Daryl and Carol reuniting. While Laurent is leaving for the United States, our two heroes took a tunnel to reach England. Except that viewers now know, this crossing will be short-lived, and their route will be diverted to the Iberian Peninsula. The reasons for this change of direction are uncertain.
New look for a new survival
If Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride return to action, viewers will have to come to terms with welcoming new actors to face them. The French cast is bidding farewell, as are the production teams. Indeed, creator David Zabel insisted on involving artisans from the country the series visits for the sake of realism. Spanish technicians were therefore involved in bringing this new adventure to life.
The same will be true for the dialogue writers; part of the series will be spoken in Spanish, as was the case in French for the first two seasons. Eduardo Noriega and Óscar Jaenada are among the new recruits in front of the camera. The date is set for September 7 across the Atlantic and probably the following day in France. The series is expected to be broadcast on Paramount+, as was the case for previous seasons.
