The European electric car market is changing rapidly. In recent years, several Chinese brands have established themselves with affordable and very well-equipped models. Their vehicles were no longer reserved solely for Asia. Xpeng, already noted for its futuristic cars such as its modular flying car, had distinguished itself with prototypes that combined air and road mobility. Now, the company is entering a new phase: the conquest of France.

The manufacturer Xpeng announces the imminent arrival of two electric SUVs on the French market: the G6 and the G9. These models directly target the Tesla Model Y 2025 and Model X with ambitious promises. Their main argument? An ultra-fast charge in just 12 minutes to go from 10 to 80% of battery at a compatible terminal.

Xpeng's G6 and G9 SUVs charge from 10 to 80% in 12 minutes.

The G6 is based on an 800-volt platform with a 5C battery. This combination allows for fast charging, with a peak power of 451 kW. However, you must use an ultra-fast terminal, available from Ionity or Fastned. The larger G9 reaches 525 kW and promises up to 725 km of CLTC range, or approximately 600 km in the WLTP cycle. These figures place the two SUVs among the fastest in Europe when it comes to charging. To support this launch, Xpeng released a video shot in Paris, where the two models drive through the streets of the capital to reinforce the brand's premium and European image.

Beyond technical performance, Xpeng emphasizes interior comfort and finish. The G6 offers a revised cabin with more refined materials, massaging seats in the front and an interface powered by a Snapdragon 8295P chip. The official teaser in French clearly highlights this premium aspect. A new lighting signature, a new paint job called Stellar Purple and a redesigned interior design complete the package. Orders will open mid-July, with deliveries in the fall. The prices are not yet known, but the manufacturer promises an aggressive positioning against market benchmarks.
