WhatsApp regularly rolls out improvements to private chats, calls, and status updates. These improvements improve the app experience without disrupting the habits of its two billion users. Here's a look at the latest features of WhatsApp.
New tools for your WhatsApp chats
The conversation space is evolving with several features geared toward customization and sharing. WhatsApp now supports animated emojis: some of them (below) that are sent alone now animate automatically.
Another visual addition, it is now possible to create animated stickers using from their own videos. Those who use avatars can also enjoy shared stickers between contacts, each with an avatar, only in individual exchanges.
Creating groups has also been simplified: it is no longer necessary to immediately add participants. You can now name a group, then invite contacts via link or manually later. Finally, sending multiple photos or videos comes with new options: you can add a common caption, and recipients can react or reply not only to the whole thing, but also to each media individually.
Enhanced calls and more interactive statuses
In the Calls section, WhatsApp integrates a set of new effects and filters visuals, usable during video calls or when capturing photos in the application. Six filters and six effects are offered to vary the presentations. In the News tab, which groups statuses and channels, administrators can finally illustrate the options of a poll with photos. A bookmarking system also makes it easy to find certain publications deemed important.
On the status side, it is now possible to mention an entire group. All its members then receive a notification in the relevant discussion and can, if they wish, reshare the status.
