Windows 11 is about to introduce some fancyness to system popups

Since its launch, Windows 11 has been criticized for certain interface details, notably these floating windows that appear in the middle of the screen when you adjust the sound or brightness. Microsoft is now testing an option that allows these system indicators to be moved to a less intrusive area of the screen.

The volume and brightness pop-ups will soon be able to be repositioned: to the top left or top center of the screen. The goal is to prevent them from obscuring a video or presentation, as is sometimes the case today. The top right corner remains reserved for window close buttons. This small adjustment could have a significant impact on everyday usability, especially for laptop users who frequently adjust their brightness on the go.

A more practical display is coming to Windows 11

Microsoft is also experimenting with a new home page called “Recall,” which temporarily replaces the Settings page. This new screen highlights the most used sites and applications over the last 24 hours. It also introduces side navigation to access a timeline of recent activities. This should make it easier for users to find the tools they use often, without having to navigate too far through the system menus.

These features are currently reserved for members of the Windows Insider program, via Dev Channel test builds. But if they are well-received, they could appear in a future Windows 11 update. Let's hope that the latest one won't repeat the technical errors of the previous one. Microsoft hasn't yet given a rollout date for the general public, but the company seems determined to refine the smallest details of its operating system.

Microsoft continues to evolve Windows 11 in small steps, based on user feedback. The MacOSization of Windows 11 continues to advance, aiming to be increasingly stylish and optimized. The goal remains to improve everyday comfort without disrupting the overall system experience.
