WWDC 25: Apple finally unveils its vision of AI with “Apple Intelligence”

Heavily criticized for its delay in artificial intelligence, Apple was expected to make a big impact at WWDC 25, the famous annual conference that presents the brand's latest innovations.

And if Apple unveiled a new nomenclature for the next versions of iOS, which will now be based on the current year to start with iOS 26, or the new Liquid Glass interface which should feature new translucent menus, this is only a tiny part of the announcements that the Californian company has made...

Apple Intelligence finally open to developers

First good news for developers, and not the least: the engine is now accessible to third-party application developers! Thanks to this development, which concerns all Apple products, we should soon see the appearance of new applications powered by Apple Intelligence.

The “Shortcuts” application boosted by artificial intelligence

While the “Shortcuts” application is already available on all the brand’s devices, it remained shunned by many users who found it too difficult to use.

In the new version, which should use Apple Intelligence, the application will allow the use of several AI models to generate responses. Beyond this use, the application should also make it easier to create scenarios and automations thanks to artificial intelligence.

Enough to keep those waiting for the complete overhaul of Siri patient, which has been delayed until 2026.

Extended visual recognition thanks to AI

Although visual recognition was already available with the camera on iOS, this functionality is now extended to all other applications. In the demonstration carried out by Apple during WWDC 25, we can see that the use is quite intuitive.

From a simple screenshot, users will be able to select an element on the screen, and carry out a search on the web.

Workout Buddy, the new sports coach

Apple Watch users were not forgotten during WWDC 25, notably with the arrival of a new application, Workout Buddy.

Presented as a real sports coach that works thanks to artificial intelligence, the application should encourage users in their efforts and set them sporting challenges.

Notifications adapted according to the environment

Artificial intelligence should also be used for notifications from the firm's smartwatches.

Thanks to AI, notifications can be more or less noisy depending on the environment you are in. In concrete terms, the sound should be lower in a quiet place, and higher in a noisy room.

Tahoe, the prompt made in Apple

Apple also unveiled Tahoe, a feature that aims to democratize the use of prompts among the general public.

Accessible from Spotlight, users will be able to speak to the AI more easily, thanks to suggestions for keywords to use.
