Samsung is actively preparing the launch of its next generation of smartwatches. In recent weeks, several indications have suggested that the brand could make significant changes to its range. One of the latest reports even suggested the manufacturer might skip a version of its One UI skin to accelerate the transition to Android 16, and thus align its watches with its Galaxy smartphones. This choice would aim to simplify the tracking of updates on all the brand's devices.

A prototype of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic has just appeared on eBay. This unreleased model seems to confirm several rumors, particularly regarding its design. The watch has a more angular shape, similar to that of the Galaxy Watch Ultra, with new visual elements for the Classic series. This visual change could herald a new direction for the classic models, which have historically been much more sober.

The Galaxy Watch8 Classic adopts a “squircle” case with a crown and extended storage

The prototype in question bears the reference SM-L505U. This is a 46mm version equipped with 4G LTE and a storage space of 64 GB. This internal capacity is significantly higher than that of the previous generations, which offered between 16 and 32 GB. The case adopts a so-called “squircle shape, a compromise between square and round, similar to that of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. There is also a clearly visible speaker on the left side, as well as an additional button in the form of a crown, apparently not rotating.

The watch comes with a leather strap and a USB-C magnetic charger included in the box. It should also mark the return of the rotating bezel, absent on the latest versions. The onboard processor would remain the Exynos W1000, already used in the previous generation, but associated with a more generous battery. According to the latest information, Samsung could officially unveil this new Galaxy Watch 8 Classic at its Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for mid-July, at the same time as its new foldable smartphones.
