Google has kept its promise to release Android 16 sometime in June 2025. The company has just revealed the exact date for the start of the update rollout. Here it is.
A promise is a promise. An adage with which the developers at Google could have ended the post they just published on X (Twitter). We knew that unlike in previous years, the Mountain View firm planned to deploy the new Android update around the middle of the year. In this case, as early as June 2025. After 4 beta versions and a QPR1 version, that is, the test of its first planned update, Android 16 is finally showing its face in stable version.
No big announcements, no video broadcast on all Google social networks or other surprise conference. The exact date of the Android 16 rollout is given by the Android Developers account on X. At the time of writing, it has almost 75,000 views, which is far from representing the majority of users who will be entitled to all the new features of the new mobile operating system.
Android 16 has a rollout date, here it is
The post in question translates as follows: “It's almost time for the final version of Android 16! See you back here tomorrow”. Taking into account the time difference, the calculation is simple. The rollout of Android 16 on all compatible smartphones starts on June 10, 2025. In other words, the day this article was published. If you have enabled automatic updates on your smartphone, you will receive a notification when the update arrives. Otherwise, go to Settings > System > Software Updates.
Remember that this is just a starting point. You may have to wait several days from now before seeing the famous message on your device. Also, remember that several new features in Android 16 will arrive later this year. Finally, if you have installed the QPR1 version of the system, you must leave the beta program and revert to a previous stable version of Android 16, for example, beta 4. Without this, the update will remain impossible.
