Excessive prices for the Xbox ROG Ally and ROG Ally X?
The Xbox ROG Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of SSD storage. The Xbox Ally X packs an even bigger punch with an AMD Ryzen™ AI Z2 Extreme chip, 24 GB of high-speed RAM, 1 TB of SSD storage, and impulse-feedback triggers.
Both machines feature a 7-inch Full HD display, run Windows 11, and support Wi-Fi 6E. "Both models allow you to play natively, via the cloud, or remotely with your Xbox console in another room," the American company assures. Xbox highlighted all the specifications of the Xbox ROG Ally and Xbox ROG Ally X during the Xbox Games Showcase and on its official website.
However, there was no word on the price of the portable consoles. Unfortunately for gamers interested in the machines, it could reach new heights. The tipster extas1s claims that the Xbox ROG Ally will be sold for €599 and the Xbox ROG Ally X for €899.
The Xbox portable consoles would therefore be more expensive than previous ASUS machines (except for the ASUS ROG Ally X). For comparison, the Lenovo Legion Go, with its AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, sells for €829. The leaker adds that pre-orders could open in August for an official release of both consoles next October. Please note, Xbox does mention a launch "during the holiday season" on its official website.
