Zelda TOTK & BOTW get new updates, what's new?

Last week, the Nintendo Switch 2 was officially released worldwide, along with a series of new games like Mario Kart World and several updates for some of the titles in the Switch catalog. Among the lot is obviously The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, which both received a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for the occasion. And now the time has come for the company to refine these new features a little with new updates.

Zelda BOTW and TOTK are getting an update

Indeed, after being long shelved by Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now getting a second patch in less than two weeks, which is already more than in the last five years. And as expected, this one, which brings the game into version 1.8.1, is mainly aimed at providing some fixes following the new features introduced in version 1.8.0:

  • The Portuguese (Brazil) texts have been revised.
  • Several other issues have been fixed to improve the gameplay experience.

The same is true for Tears of the Kingdom, the latest and most popular entry in the franchise to date. The update, which brings the title into version 1.4.1, brings exactly the same fixes as those mentioned for Breath of the Wild. Note that Nintendo does not specify exactly what improvements are made to the gameplay, which seems to be a sign of minor fixes in this case.

The patches now available

As usual, you know the drill: each of these updates should automatically install when you launch your console. If not, simply go to the The Legend of Zelda games map, press the "+" button, and finally select "Update software" to install it. You are now ready to return to the plains of Hyrule in the best possible conditions. And when you see the success achieved by the Nintendo Switch 2 since its launch, it only bodes well for the future...
