There are only a few days left before the video game announcement season begins. The program is already very busy for some publishers who will reveal highly anticipated games during the Summer Game Fest. One of them is the next Call of Duty which will have a dedicated showcase after the Xbox presentation.
The firm has just confirmed it after weeks of mysteries and clues scattered on the web. Activision Blizzard is giving us a date on June 9th to discover Call of Duty Black Ops 6, the next entry in the license that is already highly anticipated. For the moment, we don't know much about the game. Rumors say that it will depict the Gulf War, but nothing official has been shared.
Two studios for the price of one
In any case, it seems that the next opus in the license will be developed by Treyarch and Raven Software jointly and that it will mark a well-deserved break for the Modern Warfare range. Especially since the remakes are over, it will be necessary to get down to imagining an original sequel if Activision Blizzard wishes to continue with this franchise so appreciated by players.
This is a little less the case for Black Ops which have not only known happy days. Impressions on Black Ops 4 and Black Ops Cold War have been more than mixed, so this will be a real challenge for the Treyarch teams. The reorganization of the studios has necessarily affect the development of the game, the group therefore has a monstrous pressure on its shoulders for this first title under the Xbox banner, which should also be integrated from the day of its release into the Xbox Game Pass catalog.
Blatant clues
This comes only a few days after the discovery of interesting clues about the content of the new opus. Indeed, rather curious Internet users have discovered the existence of a website, dedicated to the teaser of the next Call of Duty Black Ops 6. It is called TheTruthLies.com and encapsulates the whole spirit of the game. The site takes us to a simulated television. By switching channels, we can watch three videos, rather short and very enigmatic.
Activists seem to be leading a coordinated action whose goal is not immediately known. But at the end, we can see that the statues carved into Mount Rushmore have been vandalized. The inscription “the truth” appears on headbands, which hide the eyes of the silhouettes. This seems to be the theme attached to the universe of Call of Duty 2024, although nothing has been confirmed.
On a few occasions, however, we can see the same logo as the one displayed in the announcement of the mystery Direct, with the three dog heads. Knowing that the next opus had the code name Cerberus, the links between this teaser and the announcement of Black Ops 6 were rather obvious.
