The beginning of the year was rather quiet in terms of video game releases, but February is already shaping up to be a busy month. Several highly anticipated titles are about to arrive and it will be difficult to choose from the rich selection of new games. Here is an overview of the 3 opuses to not to be missed in the coming weeks.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
A sequel to the popular medieval RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II immerses players in 15th-century Central Europe. The game promises a faithful historical recreation, with a richly detailed open world, realistic combat and immersive storytelling. Players will continue to follow the story of Henry, a young blacksmith, in his quest for revenge and justice. They will be able to explore the town of Kuttenberg, faithfully reproduced for a realistic experience. Its gameplay is slow and very focused on the narrative, but we love its polished cinematics and well-crafted dialogues. The release date of the game from Warhorse Studios is set for February 4.
Avowed
Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Avowed is a first-person action RPG set in the Eora universe, already explored in the Pillars of Eternity series. The game is scheduled for February 18, 2025 on Xbox Series X/S and PC as a gem released by Xbox Games Studios. Players take on the role of an envoy of Aedyr, tasked with investigating a mysterious epidemic on the island of Living Lands.
The gameplay promises a combination of weapons, magic and companions with unique skills, for an experience that brings together all the clichés of the fantasy genre. For the most impatient, a Premium Edition offers early access from February 13, as well as additional content.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage
Signed by the French studio DON’T NOD, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a narrative adventure from the former developers of the original Life is Strange. The game takes players back to 1995, to the heart of the small town of Velvet Cove, Michigan. The story follows four high school girls forming a punk band, who are confronted with a mysterious event that will turn their lives upside down.
The game alternates between two eras, 1995 and 2022, allowing players to gradually discover the buried secrets of this friendship. Gameplay includes immersive dialogue, realistic interactions, and the use of a camera to capture key moments. The first part of the game, titled “Tape 1,” will be available on February 18, 2025, followed by “Tape 2” on March 18, 2025.
