OnePlus has managed to attract a good number of smartwatch users with the Watch 2, a model running Wear OS whose R version has the luxury of not only being efficient, but also having a long battery life at a price under €300. In 2025, the manufacturer has no intention of letting up, and should launch a new Watch 3, the first details of which have been leaked by rumors.
OPPO recycles OnePlus watches
This future model could integrate a rotating digital crown used to navigate the interface, a thinner border around the screen, an improved heart rate monitor with ECG, all powered by a Snapdragon W5 chip (no change compared to the Watch 2), 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, and support for LTE networks — probably only in China.
A look at the code of the OHealth app, the mobile companion of OnePlus watches and OPPO's leak, shows that the manufacturer has plans for a Pro version, as reported by AndroidAuthority. Unfortunately, that's about all we can say about it for now, as the reference obviously doesn't give any technical details.
More interestingly, it seems that OPPO — one of the brands in the BBK group, which also owns OnePlus — has plans to rebadge these Watch 3 watches. This year, the manufacturer launched a variant of the Watch 2 renamed Watch X; the application code reveals that OPPO intends to take over OnePlus' range to fill its Watch X2 family. It would consist of three models: Watch X2, Watch X2 (46 mm) and Watch X2 Pro, which carry the same codes as their OnePlus counterparts. Damn can't lie!
