PlayStation Plus January: The list of first games offered is there

Here we go for a new year filled with gifts and, we hope, a ton of free games. Sony is opening the subscription ball by revealing the list of games that will join PlayStation Plus at the start of the school year. After a particularly qualitative month of December, here are the 3 incredible games that will be offered to all Essential, Extra and Premium subscribers from January 2 at 11 a.m..

Rats, in the Wild West, who practice metamorphosis

The first title on the list is one of our personal favorites, A Plague Tale: Requiem. It is the sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence, a saga of games between adventure and horror that takes us to France, at the time of the Inquisition. Amicia and her brother Hugo managed to escape, but they must now find a way to protect the young boy. His blood contains an ancient magic that consumes him little by little... and gives him the power to control the rats of the Plague.

We don't leave the world of fantasy with Evil West, an interesting reinterpretation of the Wild West and cowboys. This universe mixes with that of vampires and the conquest of the West suddenly becomes subject to a dark threat that the hero will have to defeat with his very special weapons. Mystical creatures await you in this game that doesn't mince words.

Finally, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to discover the formidable game Nobody Saves the World. You play as Nobody, the new hero that no one expected. From slug to dragon, you will have to transform yourself into a myriad of living beings to destroy the Calamity. Each form has its own skills, so you'll have to be smart and even perform a few combos.

In-game content for the first time

In addition to its free games, Sony is also getting into in-game content. Just like Amazon does with its Prime Gaming subscription, PlayStation players will be able to enjoy some exclusive items if they already own the game they're interested in. This month, it's Warframe that's paying the price. Subscribers will be able to claim the Syrinx Collection which includes:

  • Syrinx Chestplate
  • Syrinx Shoulder Guards
  • Syrinx Leg Guards
  • Baza Rifle
  • Cassowar Polearm
  • Storm Color Palette
  • Base Damage Essential Bundle
  • Critical Damage Essential Bundle
  • 2 Orokin Catalysts
  • 170 Platinum
  • 7-Day Affinity Booster
  • 7-Day Credit Booster

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Games

Those with the two most expensive subscriptions can of course enjoy a new batch of games to download or stream. Here is the full list of additions that will be available from January 16.

How to enjoy these games?

As a reminder, the PlayStation Plus Essential is a subscription service offered by Sony on its consoles that gives you access to free downloadable games each month, often three in number, and allows you to play online on multiplayer games. The basic subscription is available at the price of €8.99 per month, €24.99 per quarter or €71.99 per year.

The Extra (400 PS4/PS5 games) or Premium (700 PS/PS2/PS3/PS4/PS5 games, streaming on PC, free trials) packages are displayed at the price of €13.99 per month / €39.99 per quarter / €125.99 per year for the Extra package or €16.99 per month / €49.99 per quarter / €151.99 per year for the Premium package.
