It's definitely time for nostalgia at the start of 2025. A few hours ago, we learned that a new MotorStorm installment would be in development. And for its part, Sony also re-registered the Resistance brand. Suggesting that these licenses could return to the forefront, more than 13 years after their last installments.
And in fact, another victim of the PS3 and Xbox360 generation could also make a big comeback: Sleeping Dogs. According to Shang Chi, the actor who plays Wei Shen in the game, discussions are well underway.
Sleeping Dogs back with a movie, then a second game?
It was in a recent post on Twitter that Shang Chi, the actor who plays Wei Shen in the first opus of Sleeping Dogs confirmed that he was currently in discussions and negotiations with "the rights holders to bring Sleeping Dogs to the big screen". A surprising statement since the latter confided only a few days ago that all hopes around a Sleeping Dogs film were dead.
Today, change of program and version, since Shang Chi would be working on an adaptation. Only a few days ago, he tweeted once again to confirm to fans that he was redoubled his efforts to announce his plans for Sleeping Dogs. He then confirmed that his dream was to make a big screen adaptation, then a video game sequel to satisfy everyone, as he indicates in his post: “First a movie, then a game sequel for everyone”.
Clearly, it was not easy to pitch the film to producers who do not know video games, nor this industry. But, according to Shang Chi's words, it would now be good.
