Some subscribers to Sosh's 20 GB mobile plan have had the unpleasant surprise of receiving an email announcing a €2 increase to their subscription, which also comes with an increase in data. Although the practice is legal, it is not necessarily well received by all subscribers, especially those who do not need such a volume of data. Fortunately, there is an option to refuse this increase and keep the old rate.
A price increase imposed by Sosh, but justified by more data
While Free Mobile is making its €2 plan free (under certain conditions), subscribers to Sosh's 20 GB plan at €5.99 per month are currently receiving a notification informing them that their plan will increase to €7.99 per month. In exchange for this price increase, the operator offers them a doubled data volume, going from 20 to 40 GB. This method, although legal, is often criticized because it imposes a price change without leaving any other choice than to accept or renounce the offer. Sosh justifies this change by the evolution of uses and the need to offer more data to its subscribers.
The regulations require operators to inform their customers at least one month before any contractual change. In addition, Sosh allows a period of four months after notification to allow subscribers to cancel without charge, if they are not satisfied.
How to refuse the increase and keep your current plan?
For those who wish to keep their subscription at €5.99 per month without benefiting from the 40 GB, the process is relatively simple. As Romain Heuillard reminds us on Bluesky, the email sent by Sosh contains a link that redirects to the customer area, in the section dedicated to the mobile plan. By accessing this page before March 18, it is possible to find a button "Withdraw from the offer". After confirmation by clicking on "Keep your offer", the subscription will remain unchanged, both in terms of price and data volume.
It is advisable to check your mailbox and spam folders to avoid missing this opportunity. After the deadline, the change in the plan will be applied automatically. Finally, for those who missed the deadline, cancellation remains possible without charge up to four months after receipt of the information.
