Clearly, after years of successively winning the title of "worst company in the USA", it seems that Electronic Arts has decided (finally) to change things. In recent weeks, the company has made a number of good decisions. Between the promising return to the top of Battlefield, which is (finally) based on feedback from players and the community. And the desire to put Need For Speed on hold, to (finally) listen to player feedback and propose a very ambitious return in the years to come. It also seems that the goal is (finally) to bring new blood to its football license: EA Sports FC.
While in October we learned that Electronic Arts clearly had plans to make EA Sports FC open world, with new game modes, we learn today that the American publisher has just invested to buy TRACAB Technologies, an innovative technology that could clearly improve the gaming experience of the next EA Sports FC.
EA Sports FC: (finally) real changes to coming?
A very big change for EA Sports FC coming? In any case, Electronic Arts intends to shake things up. We have just learned that the American publisher has just invested to buy TRACAB Technologies. This technology is presented as “a leader in the field of advanced solutions for tracking and optical analysis of sports”.
Thanks to this technology, EA Sports will be able to achieve 60Hz motion capture and capture almost everything that happens on a football pitch. This will make it possible to collect up to 600 million data points per match, including 65 unique data points per player and referee.
So, for the moment, obviously, this doesn't really help us much and all of this remains just big numbers. But, Electronic Arts has already confirmed that this will allow them to bring much more realism to their upcoming games: “TRACAB will bring more top-notch capture and data technologies directly into our catalog”. Between that, and the new versions of HyperMotion, it could lead to some pretty cool things. At least, we hope so.
