The Pixel 9a will arrive in March
We have known almost everything about the Google Pixel 9a for weeks, and recently got wind of its prices. As for its launch date, March, and more precisely mid-March, is a period that was relatively consensus until now. The site Android Headlines, already at the origin of the price reveal, claims to know the D-day.
We are not going to make the suspense last too long: according to the source, pre-orders will open from March 19. The start of shipments will be given on March 26. This day will also be the day when the successor to the Pixel 8a goes on sale in stores.
This edition would therefore arrive a few weeks earlier than the current one. The Pixel 8a, presented on May 7, 2024 during an event, has been available for purchase since May 14 of the same year.
So you have less than two months left to put aside the approximately $499 apparently required in the United States for the 128 GB model - $599 for the 256 GB model. In Uncle Sam's currency, these amounts would imply a status quo for the entry-level model, but an increase of $40 for the best-equipped version.
Unfortunately, we don't have any sum in euros to put under the keyboard for the Google Pixel 9a at this stage. Let's just point out that the Google Pixel 8a 128 GB had landed at 549 euros in France. You had to agree to pay 609 euros for the 256 GB model.
Expected features
The source says nothing about the features. As reported at the beginning of the article, they have however been documented previously.
The Pixel 9a would mobilize a Tensor G4 chip with 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and therefore 128 or 256 GB of storage. Add to that a 6.28-inch OLED panel capable of displaying a maximum brightness of 2700 cd/m² and, on the back, a photo block consisting of a 48 mpx wide-angle sensor and a 13 mpx ultra-wide-angle sensor (ƒ/2.2).
Finally, Google would equip its smartphone with a 5100 mAh battery (that of the Pixel 8a has a capacity of 4492 mAh).
