Tired of waiting for the arrival of GTA6 (or at least, the first information with a second trailer), the modders of the GTA community take the lead and decide to create the GTA6 MAP themselves, in GTA5. The project already seems well advanced and could arrive very quickly, since a large part of Vice Beach has already took shape.
GTA 6, before GTA 6
It's been over a year since GTA 6 was officially announced and revealed by Rockstar Games, it was December 5, 2023 through a first trailer. Since then, fans have been waiting with great despair for Rockstar's new communication to reveal new images, a second trailer, the first official information and above all a release date to confirm the arrival of the title in the fall of 2025.
Concerning PC players, they are already getting used to the idea that they won't see the game anytime soon. Early rumors suggest a release no earlier than 2027. That's why Dark Space, a modder from the GTA community decided to create his own GTA 6 and his own Vice City MAP.
The project is still in its infancy, even though the latter is already well advanced. On Twitter, Dark Space confirmed that “Vice Beach is almost complete” and that all that remains now is the “addition of trees, props and custom models themed around Vice City”. Dark Space then plans to move on to “the Venetian Islands”.
To achieve this, the modder is relying on a community map made by fans of the GTA series. To create this MAP, fans are relying on the leaks from September 2022 as well as on the first images that we discovered in December 2023 with the first trailer.
For the moment, no release date for this project. But, it could happen quickly. We also do not know if Dark Space intends to tackle the entire MAP and offer the different regions of Leonida, or if it will focus only on Vice City. It is nevertheless quite impressive, especially when you know the (voluntary) work that it requires. But, the project has a chance of being a great success, especially if it is then used on RP servers. To be continued!
