Xbox Showcase: 5 Important announcements to remember

Xbox Showcase: 5 Important announcements to remember

On April 29, Xbox is organizing a showcase, the second of the year dedicated to new gaming releases. With only two months to go before the summer celebrations, the company is taking its communication very seriously and is lifting the veil on many independent gems. While we knew part of the program in advance, the event still has a few surprises in store for us. The good news is that most of the games presented will be available day one in the Xbox Game Pass, so it's an additional showcase for Xbox's on-demand gaming service.

This year, the studio has put all the odds on its side by partnering with the Triple-I Initiative, a coalition of several major independent studios that wants to restore the nobility of games with a modest budget. The recent, and first, event of the group took place only two weeks ago, with a ton of announcements to be made. Without further ado, here are the most important games to remember from this showcase!

33 Immortals

The conference hits hard with a new trailer for 33 Immortals. This is THE indie game that will surely be sold out upon its release. It actually has all the ingredients to succeed. It's like taking Hades in its aesthetic, but in a large-scale multiplayer format. The 33 players of this cooperative "battle royale" fight head-on against the same enemy until the objective is reached or all the players are dead. Today we discover images of its frenetic gameplay, which also emphasizes healing between teammates and mutual aid. The studio also confirms its closed beta date. 33 Immortals will be available from May 24, which means that the final release is not far away! This information had already been revealed during the Triple-I showcase, but if you missed it, now is the time to catch up.

Palworld

Palworld is the phenomenon of the beginning of the year. If the enthusiasm has died down a little, it may quickly return with the next update. This one brings the PvP mode to the arena as we could see in the new trailer. Your pals and those of your opponent fight, while you control your character at the same time. This update is coming in summer 2024.

Centum

The Xbox showcase is an opportunity to discover an extremely original game. Centum is a disturbing work that uses search mechanics, all in a disturbing pixel art point and click. We love its graphics and its universe, although everything remains cryptic. After the first trailer, we can't say whether we are scared or curious, but one thing is certain, this is a title that we will be watching very closely as it is unique in its genre. It will be released this summer.

Fera: The Sundered Tribes

While most games have simply received a trailer, Fera has been given a gameplay sequence narrated by a developer. We see its universe at the crossroads between Horizon Zero Dawn and Palworld for its visual style, which creates a unique and attractive mix. Although we don't know anything about its release date, we do know that we'll be able to play the title this year.

Dungeons of Hinterberg

After a bit of a soft belly in the middle of the showcase, Xbox has gone all out with a highly anticipated game. Dungeons of Hinterberg is one of those games that combines heritage and modernity. This visual gem has us embody a young woman who evolves in the Austrian mountains. The game takes us into a typical adventure gameplay with exploration, combat, puzzles and a huge social part. We learn with this conference that the title will be released on July 18.
