We still don't have sales figures, but Assassin's Creed Shadows has surpassed 3 million players. These solid results allow this installment to achieve the second-biggest launch in terms of revenue generated. The only installment in the franchise to beat it is Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which received a cooler reception. While the feedback is generally positive, like any major AAA game, there are bound to be things to improve here and there, officially or unofficially.
A more refined experience for Assassin's Creed Shadows
Assassin's Creed Shadows has received a new 1.0.1 update on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A patch that aims to fix general issues for better stability, and which resolves Photo Mode issues on both PS5 and PC. This update is undoubtedly only the first of many, but some updates may not address all the complaints of some players. Fortunately, mods exist.
A "Remove Silly Effects" mod designed by RealisticGamer, released on release day, aims to provide a more immersive and realistic experience by removing things deemed "unnecessary." This mainly relates to the visual cues in Assassin's Creed Shadows that are too intrusive for some.
