Gemini should soon be usable without Google account

Gemini should be available to everyone very quickly, without conditions. A few hours after unveiling Canvas and Audio Overview, Google seems to want to open the floodgates of its AI to allow as many people as possible to use its intelligent assistant powered by artificial intelligence. Gemini is indeed about to be accessible without needing to connect a Google account. A transition that is apparently currently being deployed, thanks to which Google hopes to attract new users.

Gemini can be used without a Google account, but not yet for everyone

As noted 9to5Google, Gemini now appears to be accessible without the need to log in to a Google account. By opening Google's AI assistant in a private browsing page, our colleagues were able to directly access Gemini's chat interface, where a connection to a Google account was previously required.

However, at the time of writing, the switch has clearly not yet been made in all latitudes. Because by going to https://gemini.google.com from a private browsing page, we were unable to use Google's AI assistant without logging in to our Google account. This was true regardless of the web browser used.

According to 9to5Google, in offline mode, Gemini displays the 2.0 Flash Thinking, Deep Research, and Personalization templates. However, Gemini would only allow you to use the 2.0 Flash Thinking template as it stands, with the assistant displaying a message "Sign in to explore the latest Gemini templates." Furthermore, logging into a Google account is still required if you want to send files to Gemini or access your chat history. As for Gemini's mobile apps on Android and iOS, they apparently still require a connection to a Google account to be used.

In any case, French users will probably have to wait a few more hours, or even a few days to be able to access Gemini without a Google account from their PC.
