Until now, you had to log in with a Google account to use Gemini AI. Now, you can access it without registration. However, some features remain reserved for logged-in users.
Artificial intelligences like Gemini and ChatGPT 40 mini are increasingly used to answer questions, generate text, or even help organize tasks. But until now, Google imposed a constraint on its own: it was required to have an account to access its AI assistant. This limited its use, especially for those who simply wanted to test it before adopting it.
As of today, it is finally possible to use Gemini without logging into a Google account. By accessing the site gemini.google.com via private browsing or a browser without an active connection, the user is directly redirected to the chat interface. He can ask questions and receive instant answers. The app also offers suggestions such as "Help me plan," "Give me study tips," or "Write an essay on the history of chess."
Gemini AI works offline with a limited model
Offline users interact with Gemini 2.0 Flash, a fast version optimized for instant exchanges. This model is designed to effectively answer general questions and common requests such as writing a summary, translating texts, or generating ideas. However, access to more advanced models such as Deep Research, which offers more detailed analyses, or Personalization, which adapts responses to user preferences, still requires a login. Other features also remain inaccessible to offline users. For example, it is impossible to access conversation history, which means that with each new session, Gemini no longer remembers previous exchanges. In addition, file uploading is unavailable, preventing the analysis of documents or images.
On Android, the Gemini application still requires a connection to function, which limits this new opening to access only via a browser. Google is therefore seeking to offer initial use without registration, while keeping full access reserved to identified users.
