So you grab your phone and start typing your symptoms into Google. After browsing through a few results, you're no further ahead: the explanation for your condition ranges from a bit of fatigue to a rare genetic disease, with a whole host of other hypotheses in between.

This situation is why it's often discouraged to do searches of this kind. But Google doesn't agree and wants the information its engine provides to be as relevant as possible. And who do you call for help with that? Artificial Intelligence of course. In this case, AI summaries, which are not yet available in France, although they will be soon.

Let's remember the principle: as the name of the function indicates, it consists of displaying an AI-generated summary of a search results. Google is improving it to allow it to now cover “thousands of additional health-related topics“. The option is extended to “more countries” first on mobile, without further details. However, it is certain that France is not part of it to date.

Another upcoming addition concerning health, a “What People Suggest” tab in Google (the literal translation of the original name “What People Suggest“). Artificial intelligence will this time be responsible for summarizing the discussions of people affected by this or that disease. The example given is that of someone suffering from arthritis and wanting to know what kind of physical exercises others with the same condition do. This new feature is currently reserved for the United States. No rollout date for the rest of the world has been announced.
