InZoi is fast approaching. In less than ten days, you will be able to embark on your new life to discover this ambitious and highly anticipated game that has been much talked about since its announcement in 2023.
Recently, we learned that the game would ultimately cost 39.99 euros for early access. However, to compensate for this bad news, the inZoi studio team unveiled a very solid roadmap with four major updates and a DLC to coming throughout 2025.
Today, we learn a little more about the death system in the game. In total, inZoi will offer 16 different deaths.
inZoi: you'll have to survive!
Let's not lie, we've all had that passing madness in The Sims and that sadistic pleasure of killing a Sim completely for free, with the famous pool ladder tactic. Logically, death will be an important point in inZoi.
Since its announcement, inZoi has very often been compared to The Sims, since it is, again, a life simulation game. But the main difference is that inZoi will clearly be much more focused on simulation and realism.
Thus, Said Kjun, the game's director, explains that eating expired food could make our Zoi sick, and even kill him. Similarly, for Zoi tinkerers, repairing electronic objects is a danger of electrocution that can cause death: "I minimized this risk, but in reality, electronic devices break down very often. There are 16 different types of deaths."
Of course, some of these deaths are very similar to those seen in The Sims series. However, inZoi will have her own rather unique death: "In the modern world, many people feel fulfilled by the recognition of others, and this death reflects that. For example, in Inzoi, let's say I had a fight with someone and word got around and got back to me. I might get a text message at about it, or a friend could talk to me about it, and if it's negative, my need for recognition could decrease. And if it drops too drastically, you could die," confirms the game's director.
Since it will be possible to drive (for real) in the game, Zoi can also die in a car accident or be hit by cars: "I repeat, we have a life simulation, and death, and this kind of thing is part of the game," concludes Kjun.
InZoi will be released in Early Access on PC on March 28. The game is expected to arrive later, in its final version, on PC and consoles.
