The electric bike market continues to grow, and major brands are showing increasing interest. Decathlon, Intersport, and other specialized brands already offer high-performance models, adapted to the needs of urban cyclists and off-road enthusiasts alike. Today, a new player enters the scene: Lidl, which is tackling the electric mountain bike segment with a particularly aggressive offer.

Named Crivit Peak 709, this electric mountain bike is available at 1,699 euros. A very competitive price, especially when you consider that equivalent models from Decathlon, Intersport, or Trek generally cost around 2,500 to 3,000 euros. It features a Mivice X700 central motor, delivering an impressive torque of 100 Nm, a figure generally reserved for much more expensive models. Combined with a 709 Wh removable battery, it promises up to 120 km of autonomy in Eco mode. Enough to tackle long hikes without worry.

The Crivit Peak 709 rivals the big brands in electric mountain biking

Lidl didn't just settle for a powerful motor. The Crivit Peak 709 also benefits from components well-known to mountain bike enthusiasts. It is equipped with a Shimano CUES transmission 10 speeds, an SR Suntour XCM34 Boost suspension fork with 130 mm travel, and Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes. These technical choices guarantee good reliability and compatibility with many spare parts.

In terms of comfort, this mountain bike is available in three sizes (M, L, XL) with 27.5-inch or 29-inch wheels depending on the model. It offers three assistance modes (Eco, Tour and Race) as well as a Boost mode, which can be activated for 20 seconds for more dynamic acceleration. Lidl also makes maintenance easy with a dedicated after-sales service site and a bike that's 85% pre-assembled for quick installation. At this price, the Crivit Peak 709 is a serious competitor to the much more expensive models from major brands, and is likely to attract many electric mountain bike enthusiasts.
