If you plan to subscribe to the Disney+ platform to watch or rewatch the adventures of the heroes from the Marvel universe, you must first ask yourself these two questions: in what order should you watch the films of the famous Marvel franchise and which ones are available?
The Disney+ streaming service arrived in France in April 2020. This is an opportunity for fans to watch content from four subsidiaries owned by the group: Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and National Geographic.
Since mid-October 2024, the platform has increased its prices for the second time. The platform now offers three distinct plans: Premium, Standard, and Standard with ads. Prices range between €13.99 and €5.99 per month.
And while the service has long been offered in certain Canal+ packages at a discounted price, this will soon no longer be the case. Indeed, the encrypted channel confirmed the end of its partnership with the company with the big ears at the end of November 2024. As a result, Disney+ will no longer be offered in Canal+ packages, just like Disney Channel TV channels, for example. The measure will take effect from December 31, 2024.

- Agatha All Along – season 1 (2024)
- Captain America: Brave New World (2025)
As you can see, we recently added Captain America Brave New World, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Agatha All Along, the latest additions to the MCU timeline. Marvel has just officially updated the timeline of its cinematic universe. This is an opportunity to see that the final adventures of Wade Wilson and Agatha Harkness are therefore placed at the very end of the MCU's story with a capital H. Currently, only the exact timeline placement of Captain America: New World has not been confirmed, but the film appears to be set between 2026 and 2027… either at the same time as or right after Agatha and Deadpool 3.
You can also check out Marvel series like WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight, which are set in the same universe as the MCU films. The first two take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, roughly at the same time as Spider-Man: Far From Home.
As for Loki, let's just say the timeline is slightly different. You won't be following the adventures of the Loki you knew in the movies, but rather the Loki you see in Avengers: Endgame, when our heroes travel back in time to return to New York and retrieve the Tesseract. We see this Loki running away with the precious artifact. Loki season 2 premiered in October 2023. To refresh your memory, we've got a guide to everything you need to know about the MCU and Loki season 1 before diving into the new one.
The 2021 animated series What If…? is a special case. Each episode will be sandwiched between two movies or series, depending on the hero who is the main protagonist. If you don't want to bother, you can watch the entire season right after the Loki premiere; it will still be consistent. You can also follow the same process for season 2 of What If… since it is right after Loki S2 in the official timeline.
Regarding What If…, remember that a 3rd season arrived on Disney+ on December 22, 2024. It closes the narrative arc of Uatu aka The Guardian.
The somewhat special “case” of Deadpool & Wolverine
While the MCU timeline isn’t always easy to follow, things have gotten more complicated since Deadpool’s arrival in this same universe. Warning, spoilers!
As a reminder, the first two Deadpool films were made by 20th Century Fox. They therefore did not take place in the MCU, all of whose films were made by Disney. But since the acquisition of the first by the second, a connection between the two universes has been created. And the point of connection between the two is precisely Deadpool & Wolverine (or Deadpool 3, if you prefer) that establishes it.
And this is where things get complicated, since Deadpool travels both between universes, but also through time. So, a very small part of Deadpool 3 takes place in 2018, when Wade Wilson tries to get a position with the Avengers from Happy Hogan. Here, it's on Earth 616 that everything happens. He then returns to his own universe, on Earth 10005.
Six years later, Deadpool is abducted by the TVA, who show him Logan's death, which takes place in 2029. But the story most likely takes place on another Earth, even if it's never indicated. He sets off again, wandering from universe to universe, looking for a new Wolverine. Here too, it is likely that all the eras are mixed up and that there is no real timeline, like the Loki series.
Then, Deadpool finds himself thrown into the Vortex. Here, no chronological rules apply: X-23, present in the film Logan (therefore after 2029), has grown up. Just like the characters of Elektra or Pyro have aged. Does the story take place around 2040? Not sure, since the Vortex does not obey any temporal logic.
At the end of the film, Deadpool returns to his own Earth 10005 in 2024. However, it is difficult to establish a real correspondence with the events that occur in the MCU and on Earth 616. Clearly, part of Deadpool & Wolverine “maybe” takes place in 2024. At least, according to Marvel's updated timeline, that's definitely the case.
Which Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies are available on Disney+?
If you're planning to take advantage of Disney+ to watch them, unfortunately, not all of them can be watched, as the French version of Disney+ must respect the media chronology.
