Unveiled in 2023 in the United States and deployed in a handful of countries in the wake, Meta AI, Meta's artificial intelligence, will officially arrive on European soil this week. A launch delay that Meta justifies by a "complex European regulatory system." Meta AI was in fact stopped in its tracks after a request from the DPC, the Irish Data Protection Commission in charge of Meta's activity in Europe.
The problems seem to These challenges are now being addressed for Facebook's parent company, which has just officially announced the rollout of its AI-powered assistant in six languages across 41 European countries. Meta's AI, which already boasts more than 700 million monthly users, will be available for use across all of the group's platforms.
A chatbot accessible on Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram
Meta AI, now available to everyone, will be completely free and usable across all of Meta's applications. A new blue circle icon will soon appear on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, allowing you to communicate with Meta's AI. You'll be able to interact directly with the chatbot, just as you would with ChatGPT, to ask it about current events or request information. But you can also directly contact the chatbot in a group conversation by mentioning it (@MetaAI).
The chatbot, which will first appear in your group chats on WhatsApp, will eventually also be available in group conversations on Messenger and Instagram.
Meta, which has already deployed many new AI-powered features in the US, such as AI Studio, says it will launch and expand these new features "to other markets around the world" in the more or less near future.
