Nvidia: the RTX 5050, 5060 and 5060 Ti finally point to their nose

Since the new generation of Blackwell GPUs came onto the scene, the news has been dominated by the RTX 5090 and 5080 — and not necessarily for the right reasons, especially for the first one. In addition to its absolutely obscene price, well over 2000 euros, not to mention the enormous inflation linked to stock shortages, it also suffers from very worrying technical problems linked to its staggering energy consumption.

It goes without saying that ordinary people have no intention of paying the equivalent of an old used car to play in 4K — especially if the component in question represents a fire hazard...

Most average gamers are therefore eagerly awaiting the release of more reasonable entry-level and mid-range models. If this is you, you will be pleased to learn that WCCFTech has found some encouraging information on this level. By going through the listings of the ECC (Eurasian Economic Commission), the site has spotted several cards registered by the integrator Zotac, stamped RTX 5050, RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti. The document apparently dates from the beginning of February.

Technically, listings of this kind do not commit to anything on a commercial level. But given that these less exuberant models are expected in the relatively near future, we can say without too much risk that the release of the mid-range Blackwell GPUs is fast approaching. Good news for all those who are eagerly awaiting them in order to boost their machine.

A new entry-level card?

It will be particularly interesting to see what fate Nvidia and the integrators will reserve for the RTX 5050. As a reminder, the RTX 4050 had never been available in a desktop version; it existed exclusively in a portable version, in laptops focused on gaming.

There are therefore two possible interpretations regarding the mention of an RTX 5050 in the listing. Either the first laptops with Blackwell GPUs will soon appear, or Nvidia has decided to take into account the economic context by preparing a new entry-level card, so that the public can play in good conditions without having to mortgage all their possessions.

In any case, these cards will not be the next to arrive on the market anyway. That honor will go to the RTX 5070 Ti; in a Twitter/X post, the brand announced that this mid-range model would be available from February 20, 2025, which is today. Those hoping to snatch one of these cards, which are generally very popular with the general public, will therefore have to stay on the lookout all day, because here again, stocks risk melting like snow in the sun.

Alternatively, you can also wait until the release of the RTX 5070, expected on March 5 … or play the competition by betting on an AMD card. The Radeon RX 9070 XT, presented as the future rival of the RTX 5070 Ti, will be officially revealed on February 28 — and at a very interesting base price, what's more (around 475 euros).

Until then, all we can do is wish all the gamers looking for GPUs good luck, because the next few weeks are likely to be intense.
