Rainbow Six Siege X: What's New?

This new version won't really be a sequel, but a major upgrade of the original game. This update, scheduled for June 10, 2025, will feature an updated graphics engine with 4K textures and improved lighting and shadow management. Players will also benefit from an interface update with a complete overhaul of the menus and the Battle Pass. On the sound side, the game will have the right to refined audio spatialization for increased immersion and precision.

On the gameplay side, Rainbow Six Siege X will offer even more possibilities and realism such as new destructible elements, adding new tactics. To facilitate communication, this new version of the game will bring an optimization of the communication systems with a complete overhaul of the radial menu. The Pick & Ban phase now benefits from an integrated voting system to allow collective and strategic decision-making within teams.

Moreover, on the banning and toxicity side, Ubisoft will integrate into this Rainbow Six Siege X an improved onboarding. The French publisher specifies that its anti-toxicity and anti-cheating policies will be strengthened and even stricter.

One of the strong points of this new game is that it will be partially free. If you just want to play with your friends, for fun, Rainbow Six Siege X will be free-to-play, allowing you to play unranked games, buy collectibles, DLC, etc. However, if you want to enjoy the full experience with competitive games, the game will be paid.

With this new version of the game, Ubisoft wants to aim for the long term and relaunch the esports section. The publisher promises a very strong follow-up with a menu dedicated to the esports section, allowing fans and competitive players to easily follow major events. Ubisoft promises updates and excellent support that will allow this new version of the game to write a new chapter in the history of Rainbow Six for the next few years to come.
