The HD 550 presented this week by Sennheiser aims to convince gamers with a more flexible fit than the other headsets in the 500 range. It only weighs 237 g, like the HD 505, and has a headband described as soft to the touch. by the German manufacturer.

"Like the other models in the 500 series, the HD 550 benefits from a modular design, allowing its ear cushions and cable to be easily replaced as needed. It comes with a 1.8 m cable with a 3.5 mm jack connector, as well as a 6.35 mm adapter, ensuring optimal compatibility with a wide range of devices, from PCs to hi-fi amplifiers," says Sennheiser.

Of course, the HD 550 doesn't forget to offer a satisfying sound experience for gamers. The gaming headset features a 150-ohm transducer manufactured by Sennheiser for sound described as open and natural from 6 Hz to 39.5 kHz. Of course, it is advisable to test the gaming headset to be sure.

The manufacturer specifies that the transducers of the open-back headset are oriented towards the back, towards the ears, in order to imitate real hearing. The HD 550, designed for video game enthusiasts, is therefore an alternative to the HD 650, even if you still have to spend the sum of 299.90 euros to obtain it. You can already pre-order this new headset before it ships the first week of April.

Remember that HP just presented the HyperX Cloud III S and its 200-hour battery life at GDC 2025 in San Francisco. However, the manufacturer has not yet announced its release date.
