The X-Force Flex 14.80 is the latest cordless stick vacuum from the French manufacturer. After winning us over with its X-Clean 10, which can vacuum and wash, Rowenta is returning to basics with a decidedly simpler model, made in France, and backed by a 15-year repairability commitment. Faced with competition dominated by Asian giants, this model stands out with technical innovations and redesigned ergonomics. But can you really be competitive by offering something made in France?
Design and ergonomics: it's a done deal
With its textured finishes and angular lines, the X-Force Flex 14.80 offers a confidently technological design, all in shiny plastic, a far cry from the sleek curves of some competitors. The more observant among you will have recognized the Dyson inspiration. Others will appreciate the aesthetic choices, while maintaining speed, of the device.
The major innovation lies in the patented flexible tube of the Rowenta X-Force Flex 14.80. Capable of pivoting 180° without losing suction power, the accessory stands out as the device's strong point, allowing it to reach nooks and crannies 45 cm deep under a sofa, without any bending on our part. The magnetic locking system prevents accidental unhooking; the object is definitely well thought out.
Thirty-somethings like us will also appreciate the excellent weight distribution on the device. The 3.2 kg main body integrates the removable battery directly into its handle, allowing balanced handling, without tension after several minutes of use. For its part, the motorized brush equipped with integrated LEDs illuminates the floor by automatically adjusting its intensity. A particularly useful feature under low furniture, but which does not equal that of the Tineco Pure One Station 5 Plus and its formidable beam of green light.
Powerful and smart
The heart of the X-Force Flex 14.80 lies in its DigitalForce brushless motor, flanked by asymmetrical blades inspired by aeronautical turbines. In Boost mode, it reaches 240 Air Watts with an optimized energy consumption of 18% compared to the previous generation. Its independent motor rotates at 8000 rpm, which allows it to be very efficient on hard floors, as well as most carpets. Finally, and we won't complain about it, the 14.80 also includes a mini LED electric brush, specifically designed for pet hair, as well as two multi-purpose brushes, and two suction heads (wide and crevice) to reach the smallest corners. An additional washable filter is also included. To store the device when not in use, a wall-mounted charging base allows you to store the vacuum cleaner and its accessories.
On a daily basis, the Rowenta 14.80 is simple and efficient. We appreciate its ease of use, as well as its ability to adapt to different situations. In Auto mode, the vacuum cleaner automatically changes its suction mode depending on the floors detected. If you prefer manual power management, simply select one of the three available power settings (Eco, Normal, Boost), or use the trigger to make the motor roar to its maximum in more congested areas. Without being particularly quiet, the Rowenta X-Force Flex 14.80 ensures very bearable noise pollution. Its double-walled soundproofing chamber filled with recycled sound-absorbing foam, already at work on the 13.60 model, ensures peaks of only 68 dB in Eco mode.
Autonomy and recharging: endurance made in Normandy
In mixed conditions, the vacuum cleaner's battery life easily reaches an hour before dying, and up to 90 minutes in Eco mode, in line with the brand's promises. The charger allows for 80% charge recovery in two hours. This is more than enough for a home, even a family-sized one. For the most demanding users, the vacuum cleaner comes with a single battery, but it is removable. It is therefore possible to purchase another optional battery to cover all your needs, and good news, it is the same as on the 13.60 model.
Beyond the autonomy, we appreciate the repairability logic that Rowenta has demonstrated on its vacuum cleaner. The dust container, filter, and even the motor unit are easily removable, and benefit from a smart policy, in line with the Made in France stamp.
Finally, when it comes to maintenance, nothing very original under the Normandy sun. The 14.80 is simple and efficient, with an easy-to-empty 65 cl dust container and a very practical washable filter to avoid excess disposable consumables.
Price and availability
Commercialized in April 2025 at €499.99, the Rowenta X-Force Flex 14.80 is positioned as a credible alternative to Chinese flagships. Its repairability index and carbon footprint justify its additional cost, while promising to appeal to fans of made in France products.
