Breathing fresh air and looking at a beautiful image, it's hard to imagine anything better for sedentary workers (or gamers). Asus has unveiled a new range of VU monitors, the VU249HFI-W (24 inches), the VU279HFI-W (27 inches) and the ultra-wide curved VU34WCIP-W (34 inches). They offer a refresh rate of 100Hz, a response time of 1ms, a resolution of 1080p for the first two, 1440p for the second.
Screens that gather dust
The 24 and 28 inch screens have IPS panels, the third a VA (Vertical Alignment) panel often used in ultra-wide monitors. This technology offers higher contrast than IPS, better black reproduction, but viewing angles a little less good than IPS.
These monitors are far from performing as well as better-defined models or those with higher frequency rates, but they nevertheless stand out with a unique feature. They integrate an air ionizer. The screens draw air from the back and purify it through ionization. This process is capable of eliminating allergens and dust. On the other hand, there is no filter; This reduces logistics, but in return, not all particles are eliminated.
Asus, however, promises a 90% reduction in suspended particles near the screen. The manufacturer also offers clever packaging: the screen's cardboard can be transformed into a stand for documents, a smartphone, or even a laptop. A recycling that looks like a Pif Gadget that's interesting, to say the least.
Unfortunately, the company doesn't provide any prices for these three screens, nor even an availability date.
