After a very difficult launch marked by numerous bugs and missing features, the SNCF Connect app - which replaced Oui.sncf - has finally found a place on many travelers' smartphones. It not only allows you to book a train ticket, but also to top up a Navigo pass, or even access coach and carpooling services.
No need to leave the SNCF Connect app
SNCF Connect is now adding new features to its bow, starting with a real-time pedestrian guidance function based, of course, on the user's location. The app displays a full-screen map with point-by-point directions and directions. A bit like Google Maps! We'll have to see use if it is also effective.
SNCF is also expanding its vehicle rental offering with Avis and Budget, which now allows you to benefit from greater discounts (10% for train ticket holders, 15% for customers combining tickets and a discount card).
The latest new feature is significant, as SNCF Connect can completely replace the Uber app! It is now possible to order a ride immediately after booking a ticket. The app allows you to find out the ride information (driver's first name, license plate, vehicle model, etc.) and the waiting time, to contact the driver, and even to pay for the ride— Everything goes through the SNCF Connect account, no need for an Uber account.
