Google has announced that it will hold an online conference on May 13, 2025. The event is expected to focus on the next version of Android. In fact, Google I/O, scheduled for a week later, is expected to address other topics, such as AI.
Google I/O is Google's major annual event. During the opening conference, the American giant made a series of announcements, particularly about Android. This will not be the case this year. Indeed, the Mountain View firm has revealed that it will hold a special online conference called The Android Show, which will be held on May 13. One week before Google I/O, which will begin on May 20. Google announces an Android show separate from Google I/O. This online conference will take place on May 13, 2025. 7 p.m. (French time). It will be presented by Sameer Samat, the head of the Android ecosystem at Google. Thus, we should have - without much surprise - more information on the next version of the OS, namely Android 16. New features, AI, design, a lot of information should be delivered.
In fact, Google I/O, which will be held a week later, should focus on other topics. Obviously, AI has become central for all tech companies and Google should probably focus on Gemini. We hope to discover new innovations, but also to learn more about those already announced. We're thinking of Project Astra, presented last year, which involves letting AI analyze everything your phone films to interact in real time.

Google could also focus on its smartphones, iconic devices that show both Google's developments in terms of photos, but also in terms of hardware with the Tensor processor, AI and design, with the foldable model taking up more and more space in the manufacturer's communication.
So we'll see you on May 13th for the latest Android news, but also on May 20th for the big opening conference of Google I/O. A busy month if ever there was one on the Silicon Valley side.
