Arcane has bowed out, but Riot Games is keeping the soul of its successful series alive with various spin-off products like a physical edition of Season 2, a collector's artbook, vinyl records, and a gift with the extended version of the song "My Best Enemy." Unfortunately, Marc Merrill, one of the company's co-founders, has an announcement that comes as a bit of a shock to many gamers, but also to many fans of the Netflix animated series.
Arcane is letting some of its fans down
Even though Arcane has closed one of its chapters with season 2, the entire animated series is still available on Netflix if you haven't watched it yet. However, co-founder Marc Merrill has clarified on his X account after being flooded with messages from players of the battle royale Fortnite. If you were hoping to see Jinx and Vi back in Epic Games' game fairly soon, you'll have to forget about it.
"Fortnite has evolved a lot with new experiences and collaborations, and we've had many conversations with Epic about what might be possible. They've been great partners, but we haven't been able to find the right compromise to bring back the Arcane skins, and unfortunately, it won't be happening in the near future. We know there's been a lot of interest in these skins, and we really appreciate how much you care about them and how hard you've been advocating for their return. If anything changes in the future, we'll let you know as soon as possible! collaborations with Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider, and soon perhaps Dragon Ball Daima and One Piece, if leaks are to be believed. But as far as Arcane is concerned, the skin partnership project is no longer on the table. And inevitably, this disappoints some fans. "Even outside of League, Riot is letting us down"; "It's such a disappointment for everyone who wanted the skins"; "So many of us are eagerly awaiting the Arcane skins" can be read in the responses under Marc Merrill's statement.
