Assassin's Creed Shadows: The absence of this feature disappoints players

Assassin’s Creed Shadows may have been a success since its release, but one question keeps coming up on social media and forums: where did the famous cooperative mode go? There were rumors about it long before the game’s launch. But since then, nothing. And inevitably, the community is starting to get impatient.

A “LEAGUE” mode that makes people fantasize about Assasin’s Creed Shadows

À Last fall, leaks suggested a multiplayer mode called LEAGUE for Assassin's Creed Shadows. A co-op mode inspired by what was offered by Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. In short, a completely separate content, with replayable missions, rogue-like mechanics, and the possibility of playing in pairs.

On paper, the idea is attractive: one player embodies Naoe, an infiltration specialist, while the other plays Yasuke, more brutal but formidable in combat. Enough to create a real synergy between two very distinct styles. And above all, a new way to extend the Shadows adventure.

Still no trace

But here it is, a month after the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows, this co-op mode is still not there. No clues, no official announcement, and even less of a date. On Reddit, threads on the subject are surging. Some continue to hope for a surprise reveal. Others think the project has been shelved or even canceled.

Players are sharing their ideas. Some imagine a semi-open-world co-op mode, others dream of a random mission system with loot and power-ups. In short, there's no shortage of creativity. But the wait is long.

For its part, Ubisoft has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of this mode in Assassin's Creed Shadows. The publisher seems focused on patches and updates to the main game. But the desire for co-op is not weakening. And it's not surprising. The Assassin's Creed series has always flirted with multiplayer, without ever really finding the right balance. Shadows might just be the perfect episode to reach that milestone, especially with its two protagonists being so complementary.
