If you've always dreamed of sailing the seas at the helm of your own ship, now is the time. Ubisoft is giving you free access to Skull and Bones from April 17 to 21, 2025. And this isn't a demo: you'll be able to play the full version of the game, without any restrictions.
A real Ubisoft open world to explore, alone or with pirates
In Skull and Bones, you start as a simple castaway. But very quickly, you will be able to build a fleet, create your own ships, craft formidable weapons, and above all, become the most feared pirate in the Indian Ocean. Each game lets you choose your path. You can go treasure hunting, face other players, or explore the waters solo. The world is vast, dynamic, and full of surprises.
During this free weekend, you have access to all the content of the game. Nothing is locked. You play as if you had purchased Skull and Bones. And the cherry on the cake: your progress is saved. If you buy the game later, you will continue there where you left off.
Skull and Bones can be played solo, but it really comes into its own online. You can team up with other players to take on enemy fleets, secure trade routes, or go exploring. But beware, the game also offers PvP, and some captains won't hesitate to sink you to seize your loot.
No classic leveling here. Everything is based on your reputation, which evolves through your actions. The more missions you complete, battles you win, or contracts you fulfill, the more your name becomes feared. And this unlocks new content, customization options, more powerful ships, and new opportunities. The game's economy is partly based on crafting: you collect materials to build your fleet, craft weapons, or improve your equipment. It's a system that encourages exploration and trading, while reinforcing the sense of progression.
How to play and on which platforms?
The game is available for free from April 17 at 5 PM until April 21 at 2 PM (local time). You can pre-load it now, so you're ready to jump in as soon as it opens.
Compatible platforms include:
- PC (via Ubisoft Connect)
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
Since its launch, Skull and Bones has evolved considerably. Ubisoft has added content, fixed bugs, and refined the gaming experience. This free weekend is the perfect opportunity to test it without obligation, see if you like the universe, and why not continue the adventure afterwards.
