A new leak has just lifted the veil on a major aspect of the future Battlefield 6. This time, it's about class specializations, a system that could well redefine the way you play in a squad. And suffice to say, the first information suggests a more strategic, more customizable approach... and clearly richer.
Specializations in several stages in Battlefield 6
According to the MP1ST website, which relies on data extracted via datamining, the game will offer five main classes: Fire Support, Engineer, Anti-Vehicle, Mechanic, Recon, and Pathfinder. Each class would benefit from four levels of specializations, to be unlocked progressively. These bonuses would increase the effectiveness of each role, through passive improvements or active skills. This is reminiscent of Field Upgrades from Battlefield 4, but with a more advanced structure.
In fact, this new system seems to encourage varied playstyles and complementarity in teams in Battlefield 6. Here is a glimpse of what each class could offer:
- Fire Support: More mobility with LMGs, improved resupply, better stability of mounted fire, and ammo crate drop for the squad.
- Engineer Anti-Vehicle: Slows enemy vehicles, additional rockets, faster lock-on, and a thermite drone at deploy in the heat of battle.
- Mechanic: Gadgets that heat up more slowly, vehicles repaired more efficiently, faster tool reloads, and instant repair via a quick command.
- Recon: Auto-detect while aiming, reduced visibility, accuracy bonuses, headshots that prevent revives, and targeted mortar fire.
- Pathfinder: Invisibility motion sensors, tracking enemies that are targeting you, more discreet movement, and calling a UAV drone.
A leak to be taken with a pinch of salt
Of course, this information does not come from an official announcement. It comes from a version still in development, shared on a specialized Telegram channel on Battlefield 6. It's therefore possible that some elements will change between now and release, or even disappear completely. But this leak gives a good idea of the direction the game is taking. And for Battlefield fans, this could well mark a return to deeper mechanics, where teamwork and individual specialization play a central role.
