Air France wants to promote its new 4K screens available on board its aircraft. To this end, the airline has signed a contract with Canal+ to expand its catalog of films available on board its aircraft. Around a hundred programs are coming, with French and subtitled versions, and Air France plans to add 20 new programs per month. In total, more than 310 films will be available on Air France aircraft screens, all genres combined, in addition to series and documentaries. For each seat, passengers will be able to enjoy 1,500 hours of content, 30% of which is for... French productions.
The partnership comes as the airline and Canal+ will be following the CanneSeries festival as official partners at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, on the French Riviera, from April 24 to 29. On this occasion, Air France will welcome visitors to its stand to show them its new HD screens with Bluetooth connectivity and a new intuitive interface, available in 12 languages. A competition also allows you to win plane tickets and Canal+ subscriptions.
Canal+ in addition to Starlink access
The Air France planes concerned are those dedicated to long-distance destinations, while the French airline's fleet with screens only includes the Airbus A330, A350, Boeing 777 and 787. At the same time, the company is looking to expand its digital experience thanks to Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet network. In the summer By 2025, the first aircraft in the fleet are to be equipped with it. Passengers, even over the oceans, will therefore be able to access the Internet and connect their phone or computer to a streaming platform, if they cannot find what they are looking for in the Air France catalog.

Eventually, it will be available on all of the company's aircraft, replacing the current offering.
Until now, Wi-Fi on board Air France aircraft was only available free of charge for sending and receiving messages. Web access, video streaming, and music required an additional fee.
