Since the arrival of Fallout as a series on Amazon Prime Video last year, Bethesda's post-apocalyptic universe has returned to the forefront. Announcements surrounding both the games and the series have been few and far between. However, the franchise is back today with news that will delight fans and another that will sadden more than one.
Fallout: fans will have to be patient
The Fallout franchise has managed to build a huge fan community over the years. With a fine and complex post-apocalyptic universe to at the same time, but also a true satire of American capitalism and the race for the atom, this video game saga offers us one of the greatest licenses of the genre. If Fallout 4 was a real success, Fallout 76 had a little more trouble convincing. However, fans of the license expect no less from Fallout 5. Unfortunately, the YouTuber specialized in the subject Colt Eastwood recently revealed that the game may not be released until 2030, if not 2031. This is due to the long development of The Elder Scrolls VI, which is expected to be released around 2028, and the fact that Bethesda is devoting its greatest resources to it. We will therefore have to wait a number of years before being able to discover Fallout 5.
Fallout: something to delight fans of this universe
Fortunately for fans of the Fallout license, Colt Eastwood also hinted at some good news. The much-loved Fallout 4 is already 10 years old this year and we might think that Bethesda is done with this opus. Not at all, according to the aforementioned specialist, a new spin-off is in the works, and Bethesda has reportedly hired Obsidian for its development - the studio behind the license. This new spin-off would also have a release window of 2026. However, Colt Eastwood is currently the only one to have mentioned this potential spin-off, so this information is... take it with a grain of salt, even if it is encouraging and can delight fans of this post-apocalyptic universe.
Tell us in the comments section if you think this new spin-off has a chance of seeing the light of day and don't miss out on discovering this MCU actor who is joining the cast of season 2 of the series Fallout.
