Exclusive images from Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld have just been revealed during Star Wars Celebration. These images tell us more about the fate of Asajj Ventress. In fact, an entire episode of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld was shown to the audience. Enough to have some small details concerning this iconic character from the universe of George Lucas.
Who is Asajj Ventress?
Originally from Dathomir, Asajj Ventress was created in on the occasion of the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars from 2003. We are not talking about the version by George Lucas but rather the excellent animated series by Genndy Tartakovsky. A secondary villain, she is a mercenary in the service of Count Dooku, tasked with assassinating Anakin Skywalker.
She then made her return in the film Star Wars: The Clone Wars by George Lucas in 2008, before being developed in the series The Clone Wars. A character much appreciated by fans, she is an ambiguous protagonist who oscillates between evil and good. Never adapted into live action, we can also see her in the recent series The Bad Batch.
In the novel Dark Disciple (2015), she falls in love with the Jedi Quinlan Vos. Together, they attempt to kill Dooku. She ultimately sacrifices herself to save Vos's life, marking the end of her redemption.
Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will tell the story of how Asajj Ventress is resurrected by Mother Talzin, the leader of the Nightsisters.
Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld – the return of Asajj Ventress
One of the episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, titled A Way Forward, will tell the story of how Asajj Ventress returns from the dead. According to ScreenRant, the episode in question should go something like this:
- Obi-Wan Kenobi accompanies Quinlan Vos as he buries Ventress.
- Later, Mother Talzin offers Ventress the choice of being resurrected. A resurrection that will be accompanied by a difficult choice regarding Quinlan Vos.
- Apparently, the episode should feature Asajj Ventress as a security agent in an Imperial transport company. She seems to have had enough of her life as a mercenary and hopes for something else.
- She should meet a young Jedi and rescue him against a team of Stormtroopers.
- Ventress should also face an Inquisitor. It is ultimately the young Jedi who will deliver the final blow to the Inquisitor.
- Ventress and the young Padawan then begin a new story of friendship.
- End of the episode.
Overall, this episode of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld seems to be the starting point of a new story for Asajj Ventress. It seems that this episode of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld adapts the final chapter of Dark Disciple.
