Daredevil Born Again: These cult superheroes will appear in season 2

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again has just ended. Fans have been waiting for it for a long time, and it met many expectations. But it also raised new questions. Among them: who will help Daredevil in season 2? Clues suggest that several cult superheroes will be involved.

An uncertain fate for the Defenders

Remember that between 2015 and 2019, Marvel launched several series on Netflix: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist. And these heroes ended up reuniting in a crossover miniseries: The Defenders.

But even though the series were critically successful (especially Daredevil and Jessica Jones), Netflix canceled all these shows between 2018 and 2019. Already, Disney was launching its own platform, Disney+, and no longer wanted to produce for a competitor. But there is also the fact that Marvel recovered The character's rights were blocked by a legal order, and then he decided to start all over again in the MCU.

But things could soon change. At the end of season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again, the situation becomes critical. Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, takes control of New York City. He imposes martial law and arrests vigilantes. He attacks anything that threatens his power, which he holds with an iron fist.

In this context, Matt Murdock cannot act alone. He needs allies. He must gather the forces of Hell's Kitchen. And it might just be the long-awaited Defenders.

A rebellion is brewing

In fact, it was Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane who recently sowed hope in an interview:

When you work on Hell's Kitchen, these iconic characters are never far away.

Besides, who better than former allies to help Daredevil?

You want to bring back people, relationships, figures from Matt's past because they serve the story – especially when Fisk has taken control of the city. There is a resistance rising. People, vigilantes, superheroes will get involved. They have to, because it's their city too.

Following the events of Season 1, the showrunner confirmed that a “rebellion movement” must train to confront Fisk and has hinted at a form of underground warfare.

Spider-Man as a surprise guest?

But when you think about it, Spider-Man also shares the same city. Plus, he's already crossed paths with Daredevil in No Way Home. And in Born Again, Kingpin clearly mentions it in these words: "that kid with the spider symbol.".

Nevertheless, this information should be taken with a grain of salt.

I haven't heard anything about Spider-Man yet. That kind of decision isn't mine to make. But if he's going to appear, it has to be organic.

In other words, if Marvel and Sony come to an agreement, Spider-Man could make an appearance.
