Hyundai continues to evolve its Ioniq 6 electric sedan. Its look is still divisive, but it is becoming more modern. The 2026 edition promises more technology and a sporty version on the way.

The electric car market is evolving quickly, and manufacturers must keep pace. In 2022, Hyundai launched the Ioniq 6, an electric sedan with the futuristic look that left no one indifferent. While some loved its very fluid lines, others found it too daring. Despite this, it established itself as a benchmark in terms of efficiency. Its aerodynamic design, inherited of the Prophecy concept, is based on a drag coefficient of 0.21 which promotes reduced consumption and extended autonomy.

Externally, the 2026 Ioniq 6 retains its streamlined silhouette, but further refines its style. The double rear spoiler disappears, replaced by a ducktail-type spoiler that is more discreet and elegant. The front bumper also appears more fluid, in the spirit of the RN22e concept presented in 2022. Hyundai is also announcing an N Line version with a more dynamic and aggressive style. This model is visually inspired by the prototype, with sportier design elements that perhaps herald a high-performance version planned for the summer.

The interior has also been revised to improve comfort. Hyundai has redesigned the steering wheel, modernized the finishing materials, and modified the center console. These adjustments should make driving more pleasant while reinforcing the feeling of quality. Even if the manufacturer remains discreet about the technical characteristics, we can expect the sedan to adopt the new 63 kWh and 84 kWh batteries already seen on other electric models of the group. The space on board should remain generous, with a wheelbase of almost three meters as on the current model.

The previous version displays up to 614 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle, which already made it one of the best scores in its category, compared to models like the Tesla Model 3 or the BMW i4. If the new 2026 Ioniq 6 does indeed have the latest generation batteries, we can reasonably expect a range exceeding 650 km on the same cycle. Hyundai has not yet communicated on the power or the charging speed, but the first figures could be available by the summer. The official presentation of a sports version is planned for July. It should complete a more mature range, still focused on efficiency and technology.
