Wilson, and a total takeover by Amazon MGM Studios, James Bond 26 is in the starting blocks. The company, which acquired the roaring lion in 2021, is about to open a new chapter for the 007.
While the company is expected to turn a corner, development has well and truly begun. Amy Pascal and David Heyman, producers of the Spider-Man and Harry Potter franchises, are now at at the helm of the franchise, recently held by Daniel Craig.
“Honoring the legacy of this iconic character”
During its conference at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, the firm founded by Jeff Bezos made several announcements regarding the creative process. Studio executives Courtenay Valenti and Sue Kroll promised on stage at Caesars Palace that Pascal and Heyman were working on “a new, fresh and exotic chapter to present to audiences around the world”.
They added that the producers were both“in London for the start of filming and were unable to be there tonight. But we want to thank them for what we believe is an incredible partnership”. Amazon MGM Studios assures that it has understood the importance of 007 for the cinematic panorama. The entity is thus committed to “honor the legacy of this iconic character”.
Who to play 007?
This is the big unknown in this equation that Amazon hopes will win. Since Daniel Craig's departure, fans have been eagerly waiting to find out who will become the new James Bond. Rumors are rife, but no name has been given yet. According to the latest information, the studio's choice has not yet been made. David Heyman and Amy Pascal are actively working on the subject. Several British actors have been mentioned in recent years, without Amazon MGM's interest having been confirmed.
We can hope that the official launch of James Bond 26 will allow us to learn more in the coming months. It will undoubtedly be a matter for Amazon MGM Studios to keep the mystery as long as possible and officialize the recruitment of a new agent during an event.
