Kidflix, one of the largest dark web sites distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), finally shut down on March 11 following a global police operation. Police forces from 35 countries were involved, including those from France, the United States, Australia, and Canada, all grouped together within Europol. The investigation was led by the Bavarian Criminal Police (LKA) and the Bavarian Cybercrime Prosecutor's Office. (ZCB).
1,393 suspects, 79 arrests, 39 children protected
Kidflix was a supermarket of pedophile horror, to be watched in streaming: the site hosted more than 91,000 videos totaling 6,288 hours. Between April 2022 and March 2025, 1.8 million users had logged into the platform. The business model relied on cryptocurrencies converted into "tokens," which members could also earn by uploading or ranking content.
The seizure made during Operation Stream led to the identification of 1,393 suspects worldwide and the making of 79 arrests. More than 3,000 electronic devices were collected and 39 children were protected. The field operations, carried out between March 10 and 23, involved, among others, the gendarmerie in France (OFMIN, the Office for the Fight against Violence Against Minors), the FBI, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
For Europol, this is quite simply the largest-scale operation ever conducted in this area. "Some people try to portray this as a purely technical or cyber issue - but that's not the case. There are real victims behind these crimes, and those victims are children," said Catherine De Bolle, Director of Europol.
